A Bear!

We saw our first black bear today. He was hanging out near the entrance to our resort and seemed pretty comfortable just being a bear. Pretty neat to see.

Hiking Whitewater Falls

We started our day with a hearty breakfast before heading out to Whitewater Falls. Unfortunately, it was quite cloudy so our photos weren't the best. We made it to the bottom and hiked all 550+ steps. There is one area at the top to just see the falls.  If you go down the next 100 steps there is an even better view.  Both of these places are well maintained.  Using the AllTrails app, we continued the Whitewater Falls to Whitewater River trail all the way to the end where there was a bridge at the bottom of the falls and lots of big rocks.  With the rain coming down we didn't get to climb many of the rocks as they were slippery but Jaden ventured a bit.  Great first family hike!

Evening Volleyball Time

In the evenings, we like to pepper and play 2 vs 2 at the local park. In addition, there are some hoops so we try to work on our dunking.  We should note that the basketball net was about 6 feet high and fancy photography.  Still a lot of good family fun and laughs.

Ropes Course and Zipline

We went on a really neat zipline that is also connected with the resort: Vordach Zip Lining.  Reduced price with the resort of $45 per person. They basically use their 'ski hill' to create a zipline opportunity with about 15 different short runs. For those interested in skiing, know that this is more of a training hill.  Cowboy Bob and Mr. Vordach himself did a great job as our guides giving us a fun and safe experience.  We saw both guys later on our trip and they were friendly as ever honking and waving to us.  Photos from the GoPro to come. Photos from the GoPro to come.

Let's Go Golfing!

Caleb and Dad went golfing on the Sapphire National Golf Course. To say it was a challenging course is a gross understatement.  We only ended the 9 holes with -2 golfballs...we also spent our spare time in the woods and likely found about a dozen. Good times, but tough golf.
