Fairway Forest in Sapphire, NC

We made it! No real issues besides about 7 hours of mountain driving. Beautiful views though.  Our resort is amazing as always.  2 bedroom, living room, 2 bathroom, and full kitchen.  We stopped about an hour away to pick up food for the week as we weren't sure what kind of grocery store was going to be available in Saphire Valley.  Jaden finished the trip from the grocery store to the resort with her first mountain driving.

Entering North Carolina 

Food Lion is like a Pick n' Save and was about 1 hour from our resort.  We stopped to load up on groceries before continuing onward because we believe the local grocery store is very small. We got about $229 worth of food.

North Carolina, Here We Come! Summer Vacation 2024

Our 2024 Summer Vacation is starting off with a 12:20 AM leave from the house to travel to North Carolina. Mom and Jaden went to bed early and slept most of the night, while Dad & Caleb watched some movies and stayed up late. We'll see who fares better. We have about 4 Shell Gas Cards and a couple of HyVee cards along and some odds and ends (syrup, eggs, bread, etc.) Next up, Chicago Skyline.
